Custom Dimensions and Dim Style Generator:

This system includes a set of commands to create and manage AutoCAD dimension styles and to draw various types of dimensions.  The dimension style creator (shown above left) creates dim styles for normal scaled views as well as enlarged/reduced model-space views and enlarged/reduced paper-space viewports.  The program creates and sets the dimension style so you don’t have to do it manually.  In a multiple-scaled drawing, AutoCAD allows the user to use any dim style for any view without warning.  For example, a dim style that is used on a view scaled 3"=1'-0" is allowed to be used on a view scaled 1 1/2"=1'-0".  This leads to critical dimensioning errors.  The set of custom commands that I have to offer has error checking that alerts the user when a dim style is used incorrectly.

If your method is to have paper-space drawings with model-space objects and dimensions inside various scaled viewports, I also have programs customized for handling these types of dimensions.

If you need to override a dimension or several dimensions all at once, you can do so with the custom Dimension Override command (shown above right).  Normal AutoCAD methods for doing this process can be very tedious.
