This program draws all three views for many types of structural steel shapes. It contains American, Metric and Canadian standard shapes. It can draw the standard gage lines for locating bolt holes. It can also assist in filling in a Bill of Material, which helps keep drawings consistent and is quicker than typing. The Ix and Sx values are shown for certain beams to help you determine what beam size to use for a particular application. The objects are drawn on predefined object, hidden, and centerline layers according to your standards. You dont have to change objects to the correct layers or worry about what the current layer is. The American steel shapes (W, WT, S, C, and MC) are drawn to the nearest 1/16. A W8x18 is 8.11 tall in the Ryerson steel book. This program draws it at 8.125 (8 1/8). This reduces dimensional stack-up errors and makes assemblies fit together much better.
